UAE top in Arab World in happiness report

Out of 156 countries ranked, the UAE is 17 in the World Happiness Report, and ranked the first among the Arab countries.

And this falls under the country’s framework to increase citizens’ well-being and happiness, in order to achieve the UAE’s Vision 2021.

And in terms of coordination between federal and local entities to achieve UAE’s Vision 2021, Ajman’s Executive Council organized the Quality of Life conference on Tuesday, March 19, 2012, in Ajman. The opening ceremony was attended by His Highness Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman. Opening remarks were made by Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman.

Shaikh Ammar said the UAE’s success was due to its leadership’s commitment to residents’ well-being. He highlighted efforts to increase jobs, essential services, security and infrastructure.

The report — commissioned for the 2012 UN Conference on Happiness under a UN General Assembly mandate — was issued by the Earth Institute of Columbia University in the US.

Report co-author John Helliwell, and the keynote speaker at the conference, emphasized that admires the leadership of the UAE because it constantly works towards the happiness and well-being of its people, which made it rank the first among the Arab world in the report.
